Michael Schumacher, Jean Alesi, Damon Hill, and so on... They all particularly appreciate this circuit and express their appreciation. Who is going to win? That is the question millions of viewers throughout the world had on their lips on the morning of 27th of August 1995. Drivers and cars got up speed... and Michael Schumacher won the race. About the circuit he declared: "Driving on this race track is a permanent challenge. The atmosphere is really different from any other. It's the most beautiful F1 circuit in the world, there are so many top speed segments, gradients, slow curves,... everything we like is here." Hit the road Jack! Other international events happen on and around the race track. On the 29th and 30th of July - preceding the giants Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill - some Audi, Opel, Honda, BMW or Renault teams met for the famous around the clock non stop race of Francorchamps. A BMW Schnitzer team won the race 1995. On the 5th and 6th of August, another 24 hour non-stop race took place on the karting circuit. At the end of September, motorbikes will hit the road for a top speed race which is part of the championship between Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium and 2 CV - the famous car from the French car maker Citroën which is already considered a legend - will prove they are still "full of life" and can hold up for a 24 hour race. Technological area dedicated to engines All year long, several types of vehicles and prototypes can use the racing track to be tested. A technological area is now being built to offer optimum facilities to companies directly or indirectly specialized in engines. A night at the Opera Every year the Royal Opera of Wallonia presents some of the most famous operas and ballets which attract audiences by the tens of thousands from Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
